Dorota Morawiec-Winiarska
Visual artist, sculptor. She graduated with a Master's degree from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław in 2016. The main area of her work is sculpture, which often relates to drawing.
She established her studio in 2017, focusing on small-scale sculpture, using mainly the traditional sculpting medium of plaster and exploring the theme of motherhood.
Dorota builds her works around the foundation of abstract forms that border on abstraction and figuration. The figures are sharply cut, polished bodies captured in calm poses. In her gesture, she has a need to seek simplicity, looking for formal solutions to build shape and form. She focuses on simple poses to see how they can be changed in surprising ways that elevate the experience of the object.
Recent exhibitions include FIGURA (solo), Culture and Art Centre in Kalisz, Poland (2023), ATELIER (solo) Kolektiv 318, Unité d’Habitation Le Corbusier, Marseille, France (2022).
She completed a project during the Contemporary Sculpture Symposium "Signs of the Times" (2023) at the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko.
